Our client, a major retail company operating in Chile and Peru, was seeking a generative AI platform to enhance their coding processes. With a development team of approximately 200 engineers, the challenge was significant: the organization needed to adopt artificial intelligence in a way that would directly impact their processes but lacked the knowledge to implement such improvements.
That’s when our GitHub solutions specialists introduced them to our GitHub Copilot Adoption Program—a powerful AI-driven assistant designed to boost developers' productivity. As one of the most widely adopted tools globally, GitHub Copilot was the perfect solution to enable the client’s developers to adopt AI easily and with high impact.
The program began with a pilot group of 50 developers, organized into teams designated by the client. We guided them through three key phases to ensure a deep understanding and effective use of GitHub Copilot:
Initial Assessment: We began by understanding the client’s culture through interviews to learn about their workflows and tools. Technical competencies were evaluated using Groowcity, a CleverIT solution designed to accelerate the adoption of new technologies.
Training Sessions: Throughout the program, we trained the client’s developers in the efficient use of GitHub Copilot. These sessions combined theory and practice, tailored to the company’s software development lifecycle.
Usage Monitoring: Using our Performance Dashboard, we continuously assessed how teams adopted GitHub Copilot. Metrics such as suggestion acceptance rates, lines of code, and AI-generated suggestions through the chat were monitored to ensure effectiveness.
