Our client faced the challenge of managing their assets efficiently, as they had obsolete and fragmented systems that did not talk to each other in a centralized manner. Most of these systems were developed in VisualBasic, while others were simple Excel templates. This situation created several drawbacks, such as:

  • Lack of centralization of information: Asset data was dispersed in different systems, making it difficult to access and analyze.
  • Information inconsistencies: The lack of standardization in the fields of the different systems generated inconsistencies in the information, making it difficult to make decisions.
  • Inefficient manual processes: Inventory management was largely done manually, consuming time and resources.
  • Lack of security: Outdated systems did not provide the necessary security measures to protect sensitive company information.

For every problem, a clever solution

To address these challenges, our team of specialists implemented a comprehensive solution that modernized customer asset management.

As a first step, two Web Application Firewalls (WAF) were created, one of which would protect user actions and send them to a Storage Account to store resources; the second would add an additional layer of security between the front end and the back end, where the database is located.

In addition, a new asset management system based on modern technologies was developed, which allows centralize information on all assets of the customer in one place.

Within the same solution, we also include a standardization of fields for coherent inventory management in the different LATAM countries where there are branches, together with automating processes for managing this inventory for significantly reduce the time and resources needed for this task.

Impact results

  • Unification of information: All asset information is now centralized in a single system, making it easy to access and analyze.
  • Standardization of fields: The standardization of fields has eliminated inconsistencies in information and has improved data quality.
  • More efficient processes: Automating processes has significantly reduced the time and resources needed for inventory management.
  • Increased security: The new systems provide the necessary security measures to protect sensitive company information.

This project and its successful implementation, it is clear that the modernization of a company's management makes it possible to improve the efficiency, security and information quality of its assets at all levels, with a positive impact on decision-making and competitiveness in the market.
