Develop 3D elements and specific platforms for events organized by our client ZOAN, a Finnish production company. With the support of collaborators from the CleverXR and CleverEx teams, we seek to add value to the initiatives to be implemented by the client. The main challenge of this experience was to adapt to a team that speaks another language and has other ways of working, but versatility is part of our clever seal!
• Create a visually attractive proposal to generate value in the final product.
• Enhance the experience of those who participate in customer events.
• Communicate continuously with the other team during the creative process.
Together with the client, we worked on different projects. One of them revolved around the Finnish Independence Day, for which our client organized a series of augmented reality events together with the Finnish Ministry of Culture. The clever team was involved in the creation of 3D elements for the development of the nearly 15 activities that were carried out.
Another project had to do with the creation of a website that offers virtual concerts. This included the generation of avatars, animations and other elements that would positively impact the experience of Nightwish concert attendees, who deployed a virtual show for people from all over the world.
To define the collaborators who would help us in this mission, the main skills were web development. Talent in this area is essential to dedicate ourselves to projects of this type, where there are also different common practices that made it easier to work with the Finnish team.
Throughout the process, the agile methodology was applied, which was already known to the ZOAN team. In this way, we were able to carry out the work fluidly and in constant communication with the client, in order to also be aware of any alert that might require our attention.
Our role was as an intermediary between our client —ZOAN— and his own clients. Taking the event with Nightwish as an example, the band was the client and the objective was to hold their first virtual concert.
For this particular requirement, it took about a month for the development and implementation of what was requested: a website for registering tickets for the event, a multiplatform for livestream and live chat for fans, and integration with different APIs that were necessary.
Thanks to the agile methodology, we held daily meetings with the international team, where all the work of the day was coordinated. In this way, we adequately circumvented some eventualities that arose, such as the time difference and the tight deadline of only two weeks.
Regarding the development of the platform for the Nightwish event, the tasks were made easier because, in the world of programming, there are certain standardized practices that allowed us to “speak the same language” when dealing with technical or more specific topics. Of course, fluency in English was also essential for us to communicate.
A small difference with the customer was that their team used AWS for programming; in contrast, our clevers assigned to the project were not as familiar with the system. However, we saw this as a learning opportunity and, true to our style, the team took the leap of improvement and the difficulty was correctly overcome.
Nightwish performed twice: on May 28 and 29 of this year 2021 and the experience was excellent. Users joined the event from 108 countries, reaching a total of 150,000 people connected on the platform.
As the Finnish band's first virtual experience, they achieved a record for paying concerts in Finland. This was the one with the highest attendance in the history of the European country!
The feedback from both the customer and the attendees was positive, as the experience was a success. Here's a fun fact: the peak of the concert was when everyone chanted “We were here”. This matches our philosophy at CleverIt, where we are proud to say We were here for our clients, providing a high quality product that allowed us to demonstrate our skills and enjoy a great musical event.
