Our client, a leading bank in Chile with more than 10,000 employees and a vast IT infrastructure, faced significant challenges in its development environment. The obsolescence of your Bitbucket repository limited the collaboration and productivity of their teams, while the growing demand for innovation required the adoption of cutting-edge tools such as artificial intelligence.
Migrating to GitHub Enterprise Cloud presented itself as a promising solution, but the project ran into unexpected obstacles. Identifying the owners of the more than 12,000 repositories proved to be a titanic task, hampered by unclear internal policies and resistance to change on the part of developers. In addition, the implementation of GitHub Copilot, GitHub's AI tool, generated skepticism and doubts about its impact and safety.
CleverIt designed a comprehensive solution that addressed the bank's challenges regarding the migration of its repositories and the adoption of GitHub Copilot, starting with the migration to GitHub Enterprise Cloud.
Due to the magnitude of the project, a phased migration was planned and closely coordinated with the bank's cybersecurity team. To ensure efficiency, customized tools based on GitHub pipelines were developed to automate key tasks such as mass transfer of repositories and permission management. Of course, CleverIT also provided ongoing training to the teams to facilitate the transition process.
Regarding the adoption of GitHub Copilot, we implemented our Adoption Program, adapted to the specific needs of our client (200 initial users). The program included a complete training plan for the tool, with gamification as the central axis for generating greater commitment in teams; this includes interactive workshops, practical sessions and learning capsules.
We also knew the importance of Measuring the impact of GitHub Copilot, so we established clear metrics and enhanced the use of the tool through gamification. Thanks to the use of other CleverIt platforms -Pulzen and Groowcity- we were able to provide better training and monitoring of the use of GitHub Copilot during the Adoption Program.
The role of our partners GitHub and Microsoft was fundamental. With support to answer questions about the products and the support thanks to our Accelerate Developer Productivity with Microsoft Azure specialization (formerly called Advanced DevOps Specialization with GitHub on Microsoft Azure), allowed the successful development of this project. Additionally, as a partner, CleverIt was able to access special funds to boost our client's results, which undoubtedly set a precedent for results.

The success of this first approach to GitHub solutions not only succeeded in transforming the bank's development environments and processes; it also generated great interest in GitHub Advanced Security implementation, another powerful tool in the GitHub ecosystem.
This project allows our client to improve the experience and productivity of their developers, offering more robust and secure products for their clients across the country. CleverIT demonstrates with this case how the modernization of its infrastructure and the adoption of artificial intelligence are positioning our client at the forefront of digital transformation of the financial industry.
